About Braces Chula Vista, San Diego

Dr Espinosa D.D.S specialize in Braces and Implants at his San Diego dental office, in the Chula Vista area.

The amount of time you will need to wear traditional braces varies from person to person, although it will generally be between one and three years. After this, you will need to wear a retainer for a while to make sure your teeth don't move back to their previous positions.

Your orthodontist Dr Espinosa will design a set of braces that are comfortable for you.

If You or Anyone in Your Family Wears Braces: We advise using special toothbrushes, rinses, and anti-plaque tablets to keep the teeth and gums as clean as possible, to brush many times a day (usually after eating anything at all), to buy new toothbrushes regularly (braces wear the brushes down more than they normally would), and if it is impossible for you to brush, to rinse your mouth after eating.

Flossing is a good way to get rid of any pieces of food that get caught between your teeth and gums. A special 'threader' may be available from your dentist that can help you with flossing. It's best to remove any food particles lurking in your mouth so that tooth decay and gum infections don't develop. Six-month braces allow you to get your teeth straightened quickly and affordably!

If you have had crooked teeth for years, and would like to correct them in only six months, then six month braces are the answer. Get a great smile for a great price in only six months! The six month braces method will reposition your front teeth to give you a beautiful smile!

The Six Month Braces Technique can help you regardless of whether your teeth are too crowded, are overlapping, or have spaces between them -- and it only takes six months!

Ceramic Braces: A wonderful alternative to our metal braces, ceramic braces have a tint that is very similar to your natural tooth color, making them practically invisible! Almost invisible ceramic braces can be used for the six months braces treatment, and are the most popular choice for adults.

Is Orthodontic treatment right for you? Orthodontics can improve malocclusions, or bad bites, in addition to the aesthetics of a smile. Malocclusions are caused by misalignment of the jaw or teeth. A malocclusion can affect the way you chew food, smile, brush your teeth, or feel about yourself.

History of Dental Implants

History of Dental Implants

The technology behind the modern dental implant – hailed as the future of dentistry – was discovered entirely by accident.

In 1952 Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark of Lund, Sweden, was conducting experiments on several lab rats. At a crucial point in the experiment, he realized he could not recover the titanium microscopes he'd mounted in the rats' bones. Against all scientific comprehension, the titanium had bonded with living bone tissue.

Professor Brånemark decided to investigate the phenomenon......

How to Care for Your Dental Tooth Implants

Caring for Your Dental Tooth Implants

It's important to take good care of your dental tooth implants. The success of your dental implant could be jeopardized by poor oral hygiene. Follow the advice of your dental professional and your dental tooth implants will last a lifetime.
Dental implant care involves the following stages:
Immediately after your surgery
After your health professional installs your dental implants, your gums will swell and bleed. Press an icepack against you cheek to alleviate the swelling and bit down on gauze to soak up the blood.

What can I expect from a single-tooth implant?

What can I expect from a single-tooth implant?

When considering whether to opt for a dental implant, you'll want to know what to expect from the surgery. The procedure for installing a single-tooth dental implant takes around five months to complete. However, in some cases – especially when bone needs to be built up in the jawbone first – the complete procedure can take a year or more.

Your implant will proceed in three stages:

Stage One: Consultation

At your initial consultation, your chosen dental professional (either a periodontist or a dental surgeon qualified in dental implant procedures) will take x-rays of your mouth and conduct a full examination of your teeth and surrounding jawbone. You'll be informed of any measures you need to take to prepare for the surgery.

Advantages of Cosmetic Dental Implants

Advantages of Cosmetic Dental Implants

If you're thinking of replacing one or more missing teeth with dental prosthetics, you may be wondering why you would choose a cosmetic dental implant over a bridge or traditional denture. There are several reasons why many dental professionals recommend dental implants.

Because dentures and bridges do not replace your teeth root, the bone surrounding your disused roots will deteriorate.

What is a Dental Implant?

Cosmetic dentistry in Chula Vista, San Deigo

The majority of us wish we had perfect or near perfect teeth. Many of us have tooth imperfections from simple wear and tear, trauma and bad luck.

Bad teeth also affect one’s confidence and self esteem. In the years past when we lost teeth, that was the end of it; we had to live with an embarrassing smile for the rest of our life. This is no longer true anymore. Today, cosmetic dentistry in Chula Vista San Deigo can help improve our facial appearance by making one’s teeth look attractive. Implant dentistry Chula Vista is a novel specialty in dentistry designed to help individuals who have missing teeth.

In the last decade, there have been a variety of sturdy dental implants (artificial tooth) developed that can be attached directly to the jawbone and covered with realistic replacement teeth. Not only are these teeth functional, they can help restore self esteem and confidence in a person.

Unlike conventional dentures, dental implants are a major cosmetic improvement. The dental implants are stable, sturdy, user friendly and functional. The other great advantage of dental implants is that they prevent gum trauma and bone erosion that is so common with dentures.

Tradition Braces Bonita Del Rey
Ceramic Braces Chula Vista

Most people do not have naturally straight teeth and it is estimated that up to 75 percent of people could benefit from orthodontic care. Genetic and environmental factors are two major causes of crooked teeth and bite problems. Other habits such as tongue thrusting and thumb sucking, can also cause crooked teeth.

Two decades ago, braces were found to be unattractive, clunky heavy metal bands and very obvious. However, in the last few years, a newer generation of braces are available more cosmetically aesthetic and efficient. These new devices are comfortable to wear and are extremely efficient at repositioning teeth.

These newer orthodontic appliances are used at a much earlier age to straighten the teeth and provide a better outcome. The newer braces are also offering a hope to adult patients who want to have straight teeth. Recent statistics reveal that close to 5 million North Americans wear braces or other appliances to achieve a beautiful smile and healthy teeth.

Braces are more than the means to a stunning smile; they significantly improve dental health and function. Braces can correct severe bite problems that would affect eating and increase the risk of gum disease, tooth and bone loss.
